The Rabbiter’s Hut is a gorgeous BnB-style accommodation located in Tungkillo, in the world-renowned Adelaide Hills of South Australia.

It’s perfectly situated at the centre of the ‘Tinline Triangle’ – a name the location has affectionately been given by the owners – which is bordered by the iconic tourism, food and wine locations of the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, and Murraylands; and conveniently just 20 minutes from each.

Owned by Annette and Bill Cameron, the Rabbiter’s Hut sits on the family’s picturesque property named Tinline Park – a 3,000-acre working sheep farm that produces some of the finest wool in Australia.

The restored three-bedroom cottage provides all the creature comforts that discerning travellers look for in modern accommodation, but with that extra cosy, home away from home feel.

At Rabbiter’s Hut, enjoy endless views from your own private verandah with a glass of Adelaide Hills wine in hand, cook some delicious meals in your gourmet kitchen, lounge by the wood fire, or entertain by your own private outdoor fire pit, plus so much more.

It’s the perfect location to enjoy a secluded and relaxing country getaway where you’ll be close enough to everything you need, but far enough away to feel like you’ve escaped it all.

The situation:

Courtesy of a referral from an accommodation industry friend, Annette reached out to Allure Digital Marketing to discuss a redesign of their website.

Annette wanted to grow her accommodation business, and better demonstrate the Rabbiter’s Hut value proposition to potential guests.

As with today’s accommodation industry, a lot of guests book via websites like Airbnb and Booking.com, so a system of integration with these booking sites was important.

Based on in-depth analysis and discussions about the existing website, and Annette’s goals and plans for the business – as well as being equipped with an extensive background in the accommodation industry – our recommendation was to build and design a new website for the Rabbiter’s Hut.

The website would need to satisfy all of Annette’s requirements, including accepting online bookings, allow the purchase of food and beverage packages, and integrate with booking sites. Most importantly, however, the goal of the new website was to encourage more direct bookings and thereby grow revenue.

The problem with the existing website:

  • It did not accept online bookings.
  • It was no longer representative of the Rabbiter’s Hut, in terms of personality, style, and branding.
  • The imagery was outdated.
  • The client wanted to add food and beverage ‘packages‘ for sale via their website, which could be purchased at the time of booking.
  • The website platform didn’t offer the functionality needed to link with external booking sites like Booking.com, etc.

The new website solution:

  • Website platform: design a new website using Lodgify (an accommodation-specific solution).
  • Copywriting: edit, refresh, and update existing copy throughout the site, as well as write copy for new pages.
  • Branding: update the business logo, website style and brand colours.
  • Photography: shoot new imagery of the accommodation and property.
  • Website design: redesign the entire site architecture and navigation.
  • Accommodation Packages: assist with the creation of guest food and beverage packages which the user can ‘add on’ at the time of booking.
  • SEO
    • Add page and image metadata.
    • Implement redirects where needed.
  • Training: provide the client with training on the use of the new website and booking platform.
  • Booking sites: connect external booking sites (i.e. Airbnb, Booking.com).
  • Data Analytics: add existing Google Analytics ID to the new website, to ensure historical data is retained.

BEFORE VS AFTER

A guest who made an accommodation booking for the Rabbiter’s Hut has since described the new website as:

“A crisp, clear, very appealing website depicting a clear picture of the realism of the accommodation with enough information to entice guests to stay. A website easy to navigate around with a very simple booking process.”

And thank you to Annette for providing this amazing feedback about her experience and the project outcome:

“From a very highly regarded recommendation from Simon Tolley Wines, I was able to engage Stephanie Tuominen from Allure Digital Marketing to take on the mammoth job of giving the Rabbiters Hut Website a facelift. Stephanie and I collaborated together over a period of 4 months, with excellent communication skills from Stephanie. Stephanie had the ability to listen to what my vision was for the final product. She was very knowledgable about creating a hospitality website having had some years of working in the industry prior to her digital marketing job. With this knowledge, plus Stephanie’s talents in photography, it enabled her to have an keen eye for the right photos to be used and the essential wording to make a product more marketable.

Her work on the refurbished Rabbiters Hut Website and internet marketing has made a significant difference to our business. We are now a stand out on search engines which has increased enquiries and bookings. Such a positive outcome. I will miss working with Stephanie, as her skills of helping me navigate around the modern world of technology were so beneficial. This has given me the confidence to run the Bed and Breakfast business with greater zeal for the future of the Rabbiters Hut. I can highly recommend Stephanie Tuominen, as her expertise and professionalism in her field is outstanding.”
